Chemically and systematically speaking, fluorite should be the anionic part of NaFO2, sodium fluorite: FO2- ion. (Compare with sodium chlorite: NaClO2)

But this compound is not likely to exist and so, mineralogical chemists -not very keen on systematic naming in accordance with IUPAC rules- never had to change their (incorrect) name of CaF2: calcium fluorite (main component of the mineral: 'fluorite') in the chemically correct one: Calcium fluoride.

So, mineralogically speaking, fluorite (fluorspar) is CaF2 which is calcium fluoride.
