Energy can basically be divided in two groups: thermal and nonthermal.
In principle nonthermal energy can be transformed 100 % in to any other kind of
nonthermal energy or thermal energy.
For the case of thermal energy only a part of it can be transformed into a nonthermal energy through a 'Heat Engine' according to thermodynamics 2nd law.
Example of a nonthermal energy is mechanical energy of which potential energy ( owed to the position of a body in a gravity field, or given to a body by a spring or
something similar), and kinetic energy of a macroscopic body ( molecules kinetic energy in gases and liquids are not included here, they are part of the body's thermal energy) belong to it.
Mechanical energy is the sum of potential energy and kinetic energy.
When an object possess both potential and kinetic energy , it is said to have mechanical energy. For eg- A bird flying in the sky has potential as well as kinetic energy.
kinetic energy
kinetic energy plus potential energy
chemical energy is when the energy that is released when a chemical compound reacts to produce new compounds. A mechanical energy is the sum of the kinetic and potential energy of large-scale objects in a system.
Chemical energy, electrical energy, and mechanical energy are different forms of energy.
Mechanical energy comprises of both potential and kinetic energy. For example- Flying kite
Mechanical. The conversion of electricity into heat.
it turns into mechanical energy
An object's mechanical energy is the sum of the potential and kinetic energy it possesses.
Mechanical energy is the sum of potential energy + kinetic energy.
actually, mechanical energy is the sum of potential energy and kinetic energy. :)
Mechanical energy is the sum of potential and kinetic energy.
Internal energy at the microscopic level and thermodynamic or mechanical energy at the macroscopic level. According to conservation of energy the sum of kinetic and potential energy is zero.
Mechanical energy is the sum of kinetic and potential energy in an object that is used to do work.
Mechanical energy is defined as the sum of kinetic energy + potential energy.
