Carbon fiber is lighter than titanium - or less dense, if you prefer to use something a bit more specific. Carbon fiber, even with resin applied to hold it in a given shape (and put on a thin plastic backing, which is often done), doesn't weigh as much as the same volume of titanium.
There is many other materials which are lighter than carbon fiber, but the reason why carbon fiber is so popular is that it is a very strong material, which is so light. Normal plastic is lighter, but very weak.
Carbon fiber has better tensile strength, but is more easily scratched or deformed (it is not as hard as titanium). The relative overall "strength" would dpend on how the material was being used.
yes it is. this is why titanium is used for bicycles.

By:Venom751998: By strength-to-weight ratio NO. Steel and titanium both have about the same overall strength, but titanium is about 45% lighter than steel. However, it might be more expensive. If you can, check out carbon fiber. It is known to be 5x stronger than steel and 2x as stiff. By: venom751998
metal is so stronger In tool making they use an alloy called Chrome Vanadium.
Titanium is more reactive than Titanium.
carbon cannot be used to extract titanium because titanium is more reactive than carbon so therefore, a displacement reaction cannot happen hope this helps :)

they use graphite, titanium ,carbon fibre ,titanium fiber glass or wood.
they can be made of carbon fiber, aluminum alloy or titanium
Carbon fiber is lighter and stronger than GRP and it has a longer lifespan.
yes its stronger than steel
The Advantages of a carbon fiber hood are that it makes the car lighter because carbon fiber is a stronger and lighter material than the material tradition car hoods are constructed from.
different for each type, aluminum, carbon fiber, titanium etc
Bicycle frames are made of alloys, carbon fiber, steel, titanium, or bamboo.
Steel is very strong but titanium is stronger titanium is also the strongest metal in the world
They are made up of carbon fiber, metal, titanium, gold, plastic, and more materials.
If it's laid properly, it can be. Then again...you get a guy who uses the best resins, and the best fiberglass, and he can give you a stronger composite using fiberglass than an inexperienced person using carbon fiber.
