The chemical makeup is supposed to be BeF3-, then you would have a planar molecule with Be violating the octet rule by having 3 single bonds. F Be F F 3 single bonds around Be and 3 lone pairs around each F. Be has a formal charge of -1.

:F-Be-F:

.. ..

F(with 3 e- pairs)-Be(with 1 e- pair)-F(with 3 e- pairs)

Be is an exception to the octet rule and is allowed tohave lees than an octet of electrons.

Well, Be has 2 valence electrons and Br has 7, so 2+7(2)= 16 valence electrons. Now, the structure would be B----Be----B. The B atoms would have 6 lone electrons on each, but the Be is an exception to the octet rule and only requires 4 electrons to fill its valence shell. Thus this is the Lewis structure
