Someone else answered this with :O=O-Al-Al=O:, but since 26 electrons are available, and Al doesn't have full octets, i think it's wrong. Or, just possibly, I am.
There are 24 valence electrons available. The stable oxygen ion will move to the electron configuration of the noble gas neon to gain 2- electrons. While Aluminum loss or transfer its 3+ valence electrons to also become the noble gas neon. The Octets Rule is now is play for the 24 valence electrons. :Ö =O=Al=Al=Ö:
Aluminum does not strictly follow the octet rule when put into a Lewis Structure. Look Below for how it is set up with two atoms of Aluminum (Al). Al = Al: It looks weird, but a bond is formed, and it is an exception to the octet and duet rules of valence electrons, as is Boron.
I'm not sure if this is right but it should be somewhatwwhat the answer is
i have a test on this acctually in a little bit...
Al3+[F]1-
inside the brackets of flouride, around the F you'd put 8 total dots 2 on each side of the F
its a bit hard to answer this in the computer..hope it helped
it would be
Br
. .. ..
.Al. + .Br: ====> Br:Al:Br

Br

Br Br
hybrid orbital- sp2
its shape is trigonal planar (120 degrees between the bonds). 3 bonding pairs, 0 lone pairs.
(i didn't include the valence electrons on Br, but normally you would put them there as well)
Aluminum phosphide has the formula AlP. The Al atom is triply bonded to the P atom which has a pair of dots on one of the unbonded sides.
The Lewis structure for Al3+ would show aluminum with a 3+ charge and no lone pairs. It would have three single bonds to three surrounding atoms or groups to satisfy the octet rule.
The dot structure is simply "Al" with 3 individual, un-paired dots.
It reaches the stable 8, therefore no outermost e-, It will look like this Al
This structure in this link ain't much convincing, but it helps giving ideas.
Nickel aluminium has been used as aindustry shorthand to mean an aluminium bronze alloy. Lewis dot structures are applicable to chemical compounds not alloys.
Lewis structure was created in 1916.
No, not exactly. It is an ionic compound so it would not have a Lewis dot structure. However, the carbonate anion, CO3^2- does have a Lewis dot structure.

The Lewis dot structure for germanium (Ge) is: Ge: :Ge:
The formula for aluminum oxide is Al2O3: Molar mass =581.77g/mol Al2O3.In one mole Al2O3, there are two moles of Al3+ ions, therefore 2 moles Al3+ x 26.982g/mol Al3+ = 53.964g Al3+ in one mole of Al2O3.GIVEN: mass of Al3+ = 53.964 g Al3+;Molar mass of Al2O3 = 581.77 g Al2O3UNKNOWN: % Al3+EQUATION:% Al3+...=...g Al3+x 100...g Al2O3% Al3+...=...53.964g Al3+x100......=...9.2758% Al3+581.77g Al2O3
Al3+ is isoelectronic with neon with 10 electrons
The Lewis structure of Cl2O7 has one central chlorine atom double-bonded to each of the outer oxygen atoms, with single bonds and lone pairs on the other oxygen atoms. The structure also has two double bonds with one oxygen atom at each end of the molecule.
Lewis structure was created in 1916.
Yes, XeF4 has a Lewis structure. Xenon (Xe) is the central atom surrounded by four fluorine (F) atoms. Xenon has 8 valence electrons and forms 4 single bonds with the fluorine atoms, resulting in a square planar geometry.
No, not exactly. It is an ionic compound so it would not have a Lewis dot structure. However, the carbonate anion, CO3^2- does have a Lewis dot structure.
The chemical formula for Al3 is Al3+ which represents an aluminum ion with a charge of +3. The chemical formula for CH3COO is C2H3O2-, which represents the acetate ion.
The Lewis structure of K2O consists of two potassium (K) atoms bonding with one oxygen (O) atom. The oxygen atom will form a double bond with one of the potassium atoms, while the other potassium atom will have a single bond with the oxygen atom. This arrangement allows both potassium atoms to have a full outer shell of electrons.
The formula for aluminum oxide is Al2O3: Molar mass =581.77g/mol Al2O3.In one mole Al2O3, there are two moles of Al3+ ions, therefore 2 moles Al3+ x 26.982g/mol Al3+ = 53.964g Al3+ in one mole of Al2O3.GIVEN: mass of Al3+ = 53.964 g Al3+;Molar mass of Al2O3 = 581.77 g Al2O3UNKNOWN: % Al3+EQUATION:% Al3+...=...g Al3+x 100...g Al2O3% Al3+...=...53.964g Al3+x100......=...9.2758% Al3+581.77g Al2O3

The maximum number of electrons in a Lewis structure is eight, which is an octet of electrons.
The Lewis structure for calcium nitride (Ca3N2) consists of one calcium atom with two nitrogen atoms bonded to it. The calcium atom donates two electrons to each nitrogen atom, forming ionic bonds. The calcium atom has a 2+ charge, while each nitrogen atom has a 3- charge.
A synonym for Lewis diagram is Lewis structure. It is a schematic representation of the bonding between atoms in a molecule and the arrangement of valence electrons around atoms.
