Limestone is broken down by a thermal decomposition into Quicklime :)

Limestone is the same as Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3). When Calcium Carbonate is heated, it breaks down into Calcium Oxide (CaO) and Carbon Dioxide (C02). This is thermal decomposition.
