This is a step reaction that will produce salt water.

Step 1: 2Na + 2HCl -> 2NaCl + H2

Step 2: Because any reaction involving sodium metal is exothermic, enough heat will be generated to ignite the hydrogen, so...

2H2 + O2 -> 2H2O

Step 3: the water condenses in the vessel, mixes with the salt and...salt water!

There are safer ways to get salt water, but this one's pretty entertaining. Don't do this.
