In a homogeneous mixture all substances are blended or mixed together to form one uniformed substance. In heterogeneous mixtures substances do not blend or mix together and you can visually see two or more items have been mixed together.

Water + Oil are a heterogeneous mixture. Water + milk is a homogeneous mixture.
