Dear Wiki Questioner,

Energy is the quantity of our ability to cause change. For instance, with one "Joule" of Energy we can accelerate a mass of one kilogram by one meter per second^2 through a distance of one meter.

Power, on the other hand, is defined as Energy per unit time. One "Watt" of power is equal to one Joule per second. So if we have one Watt of power, we can accelerate one kilogram of mass by one meter per second^2 through a distance of one meter EVERY SECOND!

This might be easier to understand if you think of energy as money. If you have a dollar, you can buy a Candy Bar and eat it! In this case, Power would be a certain amount of money every week... like an income or an allowance! If you have an income of one dollar a second, you can buy one Candy Bar EVERY SECOND!

What is objects that came from a chemical energy to electrical energy?

One common example is a battery-powered device, where the chemical energy stored in the battery is converted to electrical energy to power the device. Another example is a fuel cell, where chemical reactions between fuel and an oxidizing agent produce electrical energy.

Chemical energy-electrical energy- mechanical energy?

Chemical energy is converted to electrical energy in a battery, which is then used to power a device or equipment that converts the electrical energy into mechanical energy, such as a motor or engine that produces motion or physical work.

How is heat energy is converted into mechanical and electrical energy?

Heat energy can be converted into mechanical energy through the process of thermal expansion (e.g., steam engines) or by using it to drive a turbine that generates movement (e.g., power plants). In the case of converting heat energy into electrical energy, this can be achieved through thermoelectric generators that utilize the temperature difference to produce electricity.

Does tv run on chemical energy?

Television runs on electrical energy.

Is the energy to power a computer called Chemical energy?

No, the energy that powers a computer is electrical energy. Chemical energy is energy that is stored in the bonds of molecules. Batteries, candles, matches and food are some things that have chemical energy. When the molecules/compounds' bonds are broken, the chemical energy is released. In a candle, this would cause a small fire. Electrical energy is the movement of electrons. The electrons move quickly inside the wire, & power the computer as electricity.

What is the difference between power and energy in the context of electricity?

Power refers to the rate at which energy is used or transferred, measured in watts. Energy, on the other hand, is the total amount of work that can be done, measured in watt-hours. In the context of electricity, power is the flow of electrical energy, while energy is the total amount of electrical work done over time.

What difference between RF power output watt and electrical power output watt?

The difference is in the output frequency.

Main difference between VA and W?

VA and W both are units of power. VA indicates the power is of an electrical nature. W does not distinguish whether the energy source is electrical, mechanical, magnetic, heat or otherwise.

What does thermocouple produce what kind of energy?

A thermocouple produces electrical energy by utilizing the Seebeck effect, which generates a voltage when there is a temperature difference between the two junctions of dissimilar metals in the thermocouple. This electrical energy can be used to measure temperature or power electronic devices.

What is the difference between electrical power and energy, and how do they relate to each other in the context of electricity usage?

Electrical power is the rate at which energy is used or transferred, measured in watts. Energy is the total amount of work that can be done, measured in watt-hours. In the context of electricity usage, power determines how quickly energy is consumed, while energy usage over time is what determines the total energy consumed.

What energy transfers take place in an electrical cell?

In an electrical cell, chemical energy is converted into electrical energy through a chemical reaction between the electrodes and the electrolyte. This electrical energy can then be used to power devices connected to the cell.

What is the difference between kilowatt hours and kilowats?

Kilowatts are a measure of electrical power. Kilowatt hours are a measure of how much electrical power has been used.

What is energy efficiency ratio in electrical power consuming equipment?

Energy efficiency is the ratio between the useful power, and the electrical power used. If this ratio is - for example - 70%, that means that the remaining 30% of the input power is wasted.
