∙ 13y agoa solution is a mixture while a compound is a pure substance. thus, a solution melts or boils over a wide temperature range while a compound melts or boils sharply. a solution has varying composition while its components by physical means(e.g. distillation) while a compound can only be separated into its constituents by chemical mean (e.g. electrolysis and heating) thus, it is both homogeneous.
