But according to IUPAC nomenclature rules it would have been: penta-phosphor deca-oxide.

But maybe you have mistyped the formula:

Phosphorus pentoxide is a chemical compound with molecular formula P4O10, earlier thought to be P2O5, hence its old name (di)Phosphorus pentoxide
