Micro Motion flow and density meters utilize Coriolis measurement technology to measure mass flow directly in addition to density and temperature (multi-variable capability). Coriolis meters represent an elegant technology that provides accurate, repeatable measurement independent of fluid properties such as density or viscosity (light, sweet to heavy, viscous crude). Because of this, Micro Motion meters can be used to measure crude flow and density (API gravity). Additionally, since Micro Motion meters do not have any moving parts; there is minimal maintenance and is unaffected by BS&W content that can damage traditional flow meters. Micro Motion meters are utilized extensively for crude production allocation and custody transfer (pipeline and loading/unloading).

What is crude oil residue?

Crude oil residue refers to the leftover material that remains after crude oil has been processed or refined. This residue can contain impurities and heavier components that are not suitable for further refining processes, and it is often used for other applications such as asphalt production or for fuel oil.

How do you separate paraffin wax from crude oil?

Waxes are separated from crude oils in a process called solvent dewaxing. A limited number of crude oils are suitable for processing in the lube oil refineries that run this process. These crude oils must have a high wax content in the original crude, resulting in a high pour point, making these types of crude oils difficult to extract and process in other refinery units. See the excellent link below entitled: "The Evolution of Base Oil Technology"

Why is there need to crystallize a crude product?

in short, crtstallisation is the method that is used to purify the substance.crude product is an impure substance.so,if we want to purify a substance then we have to use crystallisation process.therefore there is a need to crystallise a crude product.

What is the boiling point of crude oil?

Crude oil is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons with different boiling points. The boiling point of crude oil can vary depending on its composition, but typically falls within the range of 300°C to 400°C.

Why is crude oil not used as fuel?

Because it is separated through the process of distillation into different useful products such as gasoline, kerosene, naptha, gas, diesel, heavy gas oil and residue. Crude oil is not used as a energy source by itself because it has too many different boiling points- being a mixture.
