Although you measure gas temperature using a Celsius thermometer, all comparisons of gas behavior and all calculations related to temperature must use the Kelvin temperature.

The temperature for any gas using any of the Gas Laws needs to be in Kelvins. The temperature in Kelvins can be found by adding 273.15 to your temperature in Celsius. Also, when using the shorthand for Kelvins, the degree sign is not used.

Ex:

0oC to Kelvins:

0+273.15=273.15 K
