Add up, knowing that p's are Positive and e's are nEgative: +1

16p(= '+') + 15e(= '-') makes (+16) + (-15) = +1

So the overall charge of this 'particle' is +1

(If it were a chemical particle it would have been the NON-existing S+ ion)
