Well, contrary to what you will often see on T.V. gasoline will not explode. It does however burn very fast and because of its low flash point, it is unstable and can be set off by very little amounts of heat or a very small, or few sparks. When you light gasoline on fire, all that happens is it burning very quick and hot. Try it yourself, it wont blow up, Ive tried many times. If gasoline blew up like most people believe and how it does on T.V. then terrorists would obviously be using it for bombings, and it would probably have a lot more rules about it. When was the last time you saw or heard of a car actually blowing up in an accident? Never, because the gas tank will just combust and burn rapidly.

To the person the wrote the statement above: You are wrong.

Please watch a little bit more mythbusters, there are a few episodes they use gasoline to explode.

Another thing you need an open flame to ignite gasoline sparks MAY do it but not likely, and before you say anything no dropping a ciggerate in gas will not light it a flame.
