it is acidic
You probably mean litmus paper. (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litmus.)
Blue litmus paper turns red under acidic conditions, red litmus paper turns blue under basic conditions, and both colors remain unchanged under neutral conditions.

It means that the liquid in (which the blue litmus paper is put) is an acid, because an acid turns blue litmus paper to red and gives an indication of the presence of an acid in the liquid..
Blue litmus paper turns red in the presence of an acidic solution. This color change occurs due to a chemical reaction between the acidic solution and the indicator dye in the paper, which causes it to change from blue to red.

Well if you place blue litmus paper in saliva and it turns red, then the saliva is acidic. If you put red litmus in the saliva and it turns blue, then the saliva is alkaline. However, if the red litmus doesn't change colour and the blue litmus doesn't change colour, the saliva would be neutral.

Unfortunately, it depends on the type of pH paper. If you mean standard litmus paper, it will be red (red litmus paper stays that way and blue litmus paper will turn red). Universal indicators change multiple colors depending on pH. If you have dilute concentrations of the same acid you will actually get different colors since pH indicates how much acid is dissociated, not how strong the acid is. Many universal pH indicators turn green colors at low pH.
The litmus paper is used to evaluate the pH of a solution.
Its easy. You could try the Litmus paper test. Take an acidic and a basic solution in separate test tubes. Now take a litmus paper and dip it first in the acidic solution, if the litmus paper turns red, that mean the solution is acid. Now, dip it in the basic solution, if the litmus papaer turns blue that means the solution is basic.
a litmus tells us if a substance is acidic or alkaline an acid will turn red litmus paper blue and an alkali will turn blue litmus paper red. if an unknown substance is tested with litmus and the colour did not change, then the substance is said to be neutral or it can be simply water. note that water is needed for acids to show its acidic properties........
well as we know if we want to test a substance to see if its a base then we use red litmus paper and for an acid we use blue litmus paper. So if we are using blue litmus paper that means we are obviously testing to see if we have an acid right? So if we see it turn pink then that means that are substance is an acid but it is not very strong and also has some of a base to it. If you want to see what i mean look up a PH scale. Hope this helped. :)
