Animals utilize the mitochondria within their cells to perform cellular respiration. Takes the glucose out of food and oxygen they breathe in to create wastes of carbon dioxide and water, but also useable energy in the form of ATP as well.

Cellular Respiration starts with glycolysis which turns a glucose molecule into 2 pyruvates. Next, an intermediate step occurs involving pyruvate turning into acetyl-CoA. Next, the Krebs Cycle (aka Citric Acid Cycle) converting the acetyl-CoA to NADH, FADH2, and ATP. FInally, The electron transport chain performs oxidative phosphorylation converting all previous products into ATP.

In short, animals breathe and eat to obtain their potential chemical energy.

What is potential energy is energy of chemistry or?

Potential energy is the energy due to position of a body in a force field. There is a type of potential energy called Chemical Potential energy for example energy stored in fuels.

True or false Can heterotrophs convert solar energy into chemical energy?

False from what i understand heterotrophs are animals and animals get their energy from other animals/ plants. Autotrophs are the ones that convert solar energy in to chemical energy through photosynthesis

Do heterotrophs convert solar energy into chemical energy?

No, heterotrophs cannot convert solar energy into chemical energy. Heterotrophs obtain their energy by consuming other organisms or organic matter that have already converted solar energy into chemical energy through processes like photosynthesis.

What is chemoheterotrophic by ingestion?

Chemoheterotrophic by ingestion refers to organisms that obtain energy by ingesting organic molecules produced by other organisms and breaking them down through chemical reactions. These organisms rely on consuming other living or dead organisms to obtain nutrients and energy for their survival and growth. Examples include animals, fungi, and some protists.

How do producers get the chemical energy they need to live and grow?

Producers obtain the chemical energy they need through the process of photosynthesis. This involves using sunlight to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose, a form of chemical energy that can be used for cellular processes and growth.

Most other creatures obtain their chemical potential energy by what?

Animals (including humans) obtain their energy by digesting food, taking out the energy content and excreting the waste. Plants get their energy by photosynthesis through sunlight.

How do decomposed obtain energy?

They obtain energy in much the same way as people do. They take organic matter called detritus, and take the chemical potential energy out of it.

Animals obtain theri energy and carbon from?

Which process is not required for an animal to obtain energy from food?

Photosynthesis is not required for animals to obtain energy from food, as it is the process by which plants and some other organisms convert light energy into chemical energy stored in glucose. Animals must digest and metabolize food, but they do not perform photosynthesis.

How does food provide a source of enegry for living things?

Plants convert sunlight energy into chemical potential energy through the process of photosynthesis. The plant can then utilize this stored energy by breaking the bonds of the glucose through the process of cellular respiration, which takes place in the mitichondria of the cell. Animals can obtain this chemical potential energy when they consume plants or other animals. What they eat is broken down by digestion into the simple sugar glucose which is also used by the mitochondria at the cell level to release the stored energy in the form of ATP.

How do plants and animals cell obtain energy?

Animals obtain their energy and carbon from what?

Animals obtain their energy and carbon from the food they ingest. Carbohydrates and protein are a good source of carbon and energy.

Animals obtain their energy and carbon from?

Animals obtain their energy and carbon from consuming other living organisms, such as plants or other animals. They break down these organic molecules through digestion to extract the energy and carbon they need for their own growth, metabolism, and reproduction.

Was the energy in food originally light from the sun?

Yes, the energy in food initially comes from the sun as plants use sunlight to convert it into chemical energy through photosynthesis. When animals eat plants or other animals, they obtain this stored energy and use it for their own energy needs.

How does animals obtain energy?

Animals obtain energy by what they eat. It is all a big cycle, the sun(main source of energy) gives energy to the grass which gives energy to the cow, though in smaller amounts.
