Which is faster?

Well, unless you give us two or three different CPU's to compare, we can't really tell you anything. However, the most powerful consumer processors made by AMD and Intel are, respectively:

AMD - Phenom II X6 1100T - 3.3 GHz - 6 cores - $279.99

Intel - Core i7-980X - 3.33 GHz - 6 cores - $999.99

AMD, as you can see, is generally cheaper for the same performance. Their processors, however, can still stand up to an equivalent Intel processor without a noticeable performance difference.

If you're still interested in even higher performance, or up to 12 cores on a single chip, check out Intel's Xeon line or AMD's Opteron line. These are server processors which require special equipment, but are generally regarded as some of the fastest and most powerful processors in the world.

It depends on the context. If you are referring to CPU speed, it can be measured in gigahertz. internet speed can be measured in megabits per second. In general, CPU speed is faster than internet speed.
