Kerosene is a colourless liquid. Just to make it identified as the one given in co operative stores in the welfare of the poor at the lowest rate, it has been coloured. The cost of kerosene in the open market will be three or four times higher. Even so, the poor get their share from stores and sell them at some higher rate and that is sold at still higher rate for rich in the open market. The coloured kerosene sold at higher rate is actually an offence. But it is there illegally.

How do you convert blue kerosene in to white kerosene?

To convert blue kerosene to white kerosene, you can add activated charcoal to the blue kerosene and let it sit for a few hours. The activated charcoal will help absorb the impurities responsible for the blue color, resulting in a clearer, white kerosene. Once the charcoal settles, you can filter out the kerosene to remove the charcoal and any impurities.
