Dalton theorized that atoms in impenatrable, indivisible, and that atoms are all the same. Through extensive research conducted by prominent scientists such as Ernst Rutherford and Niels Bohr, the atomic theory has been altered and refined into its current theory by other, modern scientists. The aforementioned research has disproved the aforesaid aspects of Dalton's theories.

· Elements are made of tiny particles called atoms. · The atoms of a given element are different from those of any other element. · Atoms of one element can combine with atoms of other elements to form compounds. · Atoms cannot be created, divided into smaller particles, nor destroyed in the chemical process. A chemical reaction simply changes the way atoms are grouped together.
