Oxygen is made from photo-synthesis and is emitted by plants that use carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to extract carbon. Plants are made from carbon molecules, and sunlight falling on green leaves containing chlorophyll provides the energy to separate carbon from carbon dioxide.
Oxygen acts as the final electron acceptor at the end of the electron transport chain. It can act as the final acceptor due to its high electronegativity. Without this oxygen, the cell would have to run anaerobic respiration which would greatly reduce how much ATP the cell can make (by as much as 30-34 ATP).
It is in respiration in aerobic reactions where it usually requires energy. It also requires water and oxygen. It occurs inside every cell to the formation of energy-rich ATP.
Plants produce oxygen in photosynthesis which is then used in aerobic respiration.
That is the photosynthesis. That is the predominant process
Photosynthesis is the main source of atmospheric oxygen.
It is the photosynthesis. It emit O2 gas as a byproduct.
hat is the photosynthesis. It produces O2 as a biproduct

photosynthesis
Oxygen comes from plants as the undergo photosynthesis. In photosynthesis they absorb water and basically split it and O2 in the water is released by the plants through the stomata. Oxygen also just exists in our atmosphere.
Photosynthesis in plants adds oxygen to the air. That's because the process uses H2O (water). Photolysis (splitting with light) uses sunlight, or whatever source of light is being used by the plant, to split the water into H+ (positively charged hydrogen ions) and O2, oxygen atoms. The plant only needs the hydrogen ions, so the oxygen is released through the stomata of the plant's leaves. It then enters the atmosphere.
They were the oldest organisms called Stromatolites which did not need oxygen themselves but produced it by photosynthesis.
Green plant life. Carbon dioxide in absorbed by green plant leaf. It undergoes photosynthesis in the plant; the oxygen is released back into the atmosphere and the carbon is retained in the plant as biomass. It is part of the Carbon / Oxygen cycle.
Well, oxygen supports burning. Fire needs fuel, oxygen and a spark or another source of ignition. So the more oxygen there is, the faster your substance will burn! There is 21% oxygen in air, and when you have an atmosphere of oxygen, it can go to quite high concentrations. So sulphur will burn in an atmosphere which has a higher oxygen content.
The oxygen in water is the oxygen that is released into the atmosphere.
After you Breathe in Oxygen and then exhale Carbon Dioxide back to the Atmosphere, plants will process the Carbon Dioxide BACK into Oxygen. They due this through the Photosynthesis Process. The Plants were the original source of the Oxygen. This includes Plants that are found in the Oceans, Seas, Lakes, etc.

The source of oxygen in the atmosphere is a complicate stellar process.

Green Plants
Plants and other photosynthetic organisms in the process of making glucose (their food) from carbon dioxide and water (using light as the energy source) release the highly toxic waste product of this process called oxygen into the atmosphere.
Photosynthesis is the source of virtually all the free oxygen in the earth's atmosphere.
