Covalent bonds are weaker.

They simply share an electron making them sort of stick together. Ionic bonding works by energy transfer and then sticking together electromagnetically.

ionic compounds are more soluble than covalent.

Does fluorine forms ionic or covalent bonds?

Fluorine forms both ionic bonds and covalent bonds, the former being more common.

Are Ionic bonds are the strongest chemical bond?

No. Ionic bonds are considerably more easily broken than covalent bonds.

Are covalent bonds stronger than ionic?

No. Ionic bonds are typically stronger. it is because ionic bond has more intermolecular force of attraction.

Are molecules covalent bonds or ions?

Molecules are made up of covalent bonds; however, search "ionic molecules" for more info.

Is covalent a metal or nonmetal?

Covalent bonding is a type not found in metals (there mainly metal bonds or ionic bonds) In nonmetals more covalent bonding is common.

Two types of chemical bonds?

The two you may be referring to are Ionic Bonds and Covalent bonds. Ionic bonds are formed when one or more electrons are transferred from one atom to another and Covalent bonds are formed when electrons are shared between atoms. An Ionic bond is stronger, though. I remember this by thinking sharing is better than giving someone something. :) :) :) :) :) :) Hope this helps!!!!!!

Forming ionic or covalent bonds helps make atoms more?

stable

Is a diatomic molecle more likely to be held together by a covalent bond or by an ionic bond And why?

A covalent bond. Ionic bonds form crystals, not molecules.

Why the melting and boiling point of covalent compound are low?

Compared to ionic compounds, covalent compounds have relatively low melting and boiling points because covalent bonds are not as strong as ionic bonds, and it is the bonds which hold materials together in the solid, or more solid phases.

Covalent and ionic bonds differ in that?

covalent bonds are also called molecular bonds since they are formed of the combination of different atoms to form molecules..while ionic bonds are formed of ions of the atoms..an ionic compound contains an anion (negative ion) and a cation (positive). Ionic bonds dont involve the sharing of electrons

Are substances with ionic or covalent bonds more likely to dissociate in water?

Ionic compounds dissociate when they dissolve in water.
