The bond energy of Si -C is generally considered to be lower than that of the C-C, so a simple explanation is that diamond has a stronger bond.
Both diamond and silicon carbide have a three dimensional network structure. Diamond consists of tetrahedral bonded carbon atoms whereas silicon carbide has many polymorphs (crystal structure which are temperature dependant). As you heat silicon carbide up the crystal structure changes. Silicon carbide does not melt "congruently" to give a liquid of the same composition, it decomposes at around 2700 0C .

Melting point depends upon the binding forces among the atoms or molecules and compactness of the material , the pure Silicon as an element has great compactness as compare to its compound SiCl4.

Diamond has the highest melting point -- 3820 degrees Kelvin: so burning it would require an even higher heat.
if this is from castlelearning its choices 1. H2O(s) 2. Na2O(s) 3. SO2(s) 4. CO2(s) the answer is choice 2 because sodium, Na, is a metal. When a metal is bonded to a nonmetal such as oxygen, an ionic bond is formed. Ionic compounds have high melting points. All of the other are nonmetal which mean they are convalent compounds and covalent compounds have low melting points. JgLy<3 :)
Diamond is a covalent network solid, and those types of compounds have higher melting points than other types of compound.
Silicon carbide and silicon carbide ceramics are black, high-strength materials with higher hardness and better thermal shock resistance than alumina. They have superior properties for power devices and are predicted to revolutionize the power electronics industry. These hard ceramics consist of grains of silicon carbide which can be bonded together by sintering.
Silicon dioxide. Silicon dioxide silica is the mineral quartz and is a giant molecule with a melting point of over 16000C. Methanol is a molecular compound (an alcohol) with a melting point of -980C

Siliocone has a higher one. Chlorine is already a gas at room temperature.

diamond has a 3 dimensional frame work of carbon and hence has high melting point
non-metals have lower density, melting and boiling point but diamond has higher density, melting and boiling point.
Since at normal room temperature methanol is a liquid and silicon is a solid, it should be fairly obvious that the answer is "no."
the further one moves down the periods, the melting point decreases. since sillicon is placed before chlorine, chlorine has lower melting point.

At STP, neon is a gas, so its melting point is low whereas silicon is a solid, so its melting point is high
