Fuel is burnt in a giant furnace to release heat energy. In the boiler, the heat flows around pipes full of cold water, turning it to steam. This steam turns the turbines that generate electricity for us. The hot water is then cooled in a condenser and sprayed into giant cooling towers to be reused. Unfortunately, some of the water escapes from these towers as steam. Though it sounds unsubstantial, it can amount to a huge loss of energy. This escaped steam condenses as warm water. Hope it helped :)
Coal fired power plants,Petroleum power plants,
It's used in power stations to produce electricity.
yes
Most coal burned in power stations contains small amounts of the metal mercury. This metal is released and vaporized as the coal burns. Some coal, particularly lower-quality bituminous coal, contains nitrogen compounds. The nitrogen in this coal (and sometimes nitrogen from the air) combine with oxygen to produce various nitrogen oxides, some of which catalyze the formation of ozone in the lower atmosphere. Most modern coal-fired power stations have very efficient combustion, so they produce very little carbon monoxide, but some older plants produce significant (but still small) quantities. Carbon dioxide isn't universally considered a pollutant, but it is the main combustion product of coal. Some coal contains sulfur or sulfur compounds. These can be released by burning to produce sulfur dioxide, which reacts with water in the atmosphere to produce sulfurous and sulfuric acids, which are significant components of acid rain.
Coal power stations use many different resources as a steam kettle, electrity and turbines.
Three positives about fossil fuels are:1. Fossil fuel power stations are relatively inexpensive to build and maintain.2. Fossil fuel power stations can produce large quantities of electricity.3. Fossil fuels are easily distributed.
To produce electricity
in power stations to produce electricity,,,
Nuclear Power is used in power stations to produce electricity
The biggest source by far is still from coal burning power stations, other large sources are natural gas, nuclear, and hydro power
Power stations produce electricity, and we need them because electricity is essential to our modern way of life
Coal fired power plants,Petroleum power plants,
CHP power stations produce a lot more heat. And therefor a lot more power. So that then means there is more efficiencies.
Nuclear waste.
It's used in power stations to produce electricity.
◊ Very large amounts of electricity can be generated in one place. ◊ Transporting oil and gas to the power stations is easy. ◊ Gas-fired power stations are very efficient. ◊ A fossil-fuelled power station can be built almost anywhere, so long as you can get large quantities of fuel to it. ◊ Cheap to transport ◊ Easy to obtain
China has many power stations because,It is a rather large countryandThere are SO many people living there that a few power stations won't supply enough power to the whole country!!!Hope this helps
