Sodium reacts with all liquids having -OH group as water , alcohols, phenols and carboxylic acids. 2- propanol is isopropyl alcohol so sodium forms Sodium isopropoxide and evolves hydrogen gas.

The hydrogen atom attached to the oxygen atom in the hydroxy group of alcohols, has the slightly acidic nature,That makes alcohols to act as very weak acids.Therefore it makes alcohols to liberate hydrogen during reaction with Sodium.
