Because its a good power source.
And there isn't another viable energy source yet.
Hydrogen car? yeah right. Remember the Hindenburg?
Electric car? Forget long trips plus electricity is still mainly produced through the burning of fossil fuels so its not a "clean alternative".
Ethanol? Don't get me started. It takes twice the amount of energy to produce the ethanol. The ratio is unbalanced. Basically we are wasting fossil fuels to get it and not gaining anything. AND it makes the price of animal feed and corn skyrocket which in turn makes food prices go through the roof. You can trace the hike in prices of everyday grocery items to the production of ethanol.
Nuclear Energy would be a great way to go, but people are scared of it. We already have some plants in the US, but the production of more is very difficult to do and its more of a supplement to fossil fuels. And its a lot cleaner than you'd think.
Burning coal, oil, and gas produces carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change, as well as other air pollutants like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides that can cause harm to human health and the environment.
Oil generally burns at a similar temperature to gas, but hotter than coal. The burning temperature can also depend on the specific type of oil or gas being used.
The gas that is released when burning coal, oil, or gas is called carbon monoxide or sulfur. Sulfur is released with the burning of coal and carbon monoxide is what the exhaust of cars is made up of because of the burning of petroleum.
Fossil fuels.
No, gas furnaces are specifically designed to burn gas fuel, usually natural gas or propane. Attempting to burn coal in a gas furnace can result in improper combustion, damage to the furnace, and pose safety hazards. It is important to use the appropriate fuel type recommended by the manufacturer for your furnace.
because crude oil and gas are cleaner to burn

coal, gas and oil
yes

Fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas).
1. Oil 2. Coal 3. Natural Gas...
Because we continue to burn fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas).
The gas that is released when burning coal, oil, or gas is called carbon monoxide or sulfur. Sulfur is released with the burning of coal and carbon monoxide is what the exhaust of cars is made up of because of the burning of petroleum.
The three main fossil fuels are coal, oil and natural gas
