Best Answer

Before the wax can turn liquid, it has to be heated to a certain tempurature, which is called it's melting point. The warmer the candle is to begin with, the faster it will melt, and therefore, the colder it is to begin with, the slower it will melt.

The inner structure of a stick provides him to burn slowly.

add. Since burning of wood is mainly a surface phenomenon, (for it needs oxygen) smaller sticks will burn faster than larger ones.

A candle melts easliy because of its makeup and the heat added to the wick of the candle, melts the wax because the bottom of the flame is blue and therefore the hottest part of the flame.
