Non compressed gas has the gas particles spread out more. But when compressed packed more tightly therefore taking up less room but yet still has the same amount of atoms. So you still have the same weight but just that the particles are packed more tightly.

What happens to the number of molecules of the gas when it is compressed?

When a gas is compressed, the volume it occupies decreases, causing the gas molecules to be closer together. The number of molecules remains the same, as no molecules are added or removed during compression.

Is compressed natural gas a liquid?

no it's a gas, compressed to around 1% of normal volume. If it was compressed to the liquid state, you'd call it liquified natural gas (LNG).

What term best describes a gas under greater than atmospheric pressure?

The term "compressed gas" best describes a gas under greater than atmospheric pressure. This typically refers to gases that have been compressed into a smaller volume using pressure vessels.

Why is the volume of a gas change when the gas is compressed?

Because as there is a pressure between the gas molecules and as the molecules have more the force of attraction between as they gets closer to each and as the gas is compressed the molecules have less intermolecular force, the pressure the pressure increases pressure increases the volume of the gas gets decrease and according to Boyle's law also V( Volume) is inversely proportional to the temperature V =i\p(inversely propotional) Boyle's law

Is it possible for an air mass to change in temperature if no heat is added or subtracted?

Yes, an air mass can change in temperature through adiabatic processes, such as expansion or compression. When an air mass expands, it cools down, and when it is compressed, it warms up, all without heat being added or subtracted from the system.

What weighs more an empty cylender or an cylender filled with compressed gas?

Your cylinder full of gas will weigh more, for it contains the mass of the gas. Some gases, when compressed, such as CO2, are in liquid form, and quite heavy.

Which gas can be compressed and expanded?

An ideal gas can be both compressed and expanded. In regards to ideal gas, when the gas is expanded or compressed, the molecules will remain the same. In order for the count of molecules to change, gas would need to be added. The molecule count can also change if gas escapes.

What kind of substance can be compressed into a jar to change its volume?

A gas.

Does the vloume of a gas change when its compressed?

Yes, when a gas is compressed it could form into a solid or liquid substance.

Why does density increase when a gas is compressed?

There will be the same amount of gas but in a smaller space. Density is mass/volume So as volume decreases and mass is constant, the density increases.

Which of the gas properties will change?

When a gas is compressed, its volume will decrease, its pressure will increase, and its temperature may increase.

Which gas is called compressed natural gas?

CNG is compressed natural gas

Why can the vulume of a gas change and the solid of a remain constaant?

In a solid, particles are packed tightly to each other while the gas particles are not packed tightly. So the gas particles can be compressed and can change the volume. Solids cannot be compressed to change the volume.

Does a hot gas have ore mass than the some gas when it is cold?

No. Heat doesn't change the mass of a gas.

Which can be compressed more easily gas or liquid?

gas can be compressed easier.

Will changing the volume of a container filled with gas change the mass of the gas?

No, changing the volume of a container filled with gas will not change the mass of the gas. The mass of the gas remains constant unless gas is added or removed from the container. Changes in volume only affect the pressure and density of the gas.

Which categories is usage of compressed air and gas divided into?

The three major categories of usage for compressed air and gas are: compressed air and gas for process services, compressed air for power, and compressed air for general industrial applications.
