If you can find it the guy from "Super Size Me" Morgan Spurlock did a series called "30 days". One of the episodes was on coal mining. Pretty much the breathing apparatus they had was uncomfortable to wear and when you were working really hard it was a real pain in the butt to keep it on.

Does coal react with acid?

Yes, coal itself is largely inert and does not react with acids due to its high carbon content. However, some impurities in coal, such as sulfur compounds, may react with acids to release sulfuric acid, which can lead to acid mine drainage when coal is exposed to air and water.

How much carbon does bituminous coal have in it?

Do diamonds have more substances than coal?

Yes, diamonds have a more pure and crystalline structure compared to coal, which is composed of multiple carbon-containing compounds. Diamonds are composed of pure carbon atoms arranged in a crystal lattice structure, whereas coal is formed from the remains of plant material that have undergone heat and pressure without the same level of purification.

What do you get when you boil coal?

NO, it doesn't catch fire. I boiled coal for 3-4 hrs to get activated coal . I was successful. Not all pieces but most got activated. Drop the boiled coal in another vessel full of water. If it floats..it hasn't worked..If it drowns its activated coal. But while boiling remember one thing..When water evaporates, dont add cold water..Boil it in separate utensil then add. All the best !

How does coal oil and natural gas form?

Coal forms from the decomposition of plant material over millions of years under high pressure and heat. Oil is formed from the remains of marine plants and animals that are buried and exposed to high temperatures and pressure. Natural gas is produced in a similar way to oil but at higher temperatures and pressures, usually from more mature organic material.
