All materials are magnetic in some form. Copper, which is diamagnetic, is affected negligibly by magnetic fields because it has no permanent magnetic moment and a magnetic susceptibility less than 0. This is the same reason materials such as water, wood, oil, plastic, gold, Mercury, and bismuth are unaffected by common magnetic fields.

Given a strong enough magnetic field, however, the effect can be seen. Diamagnetic materials, such as copper, are repelled from the source of the magnetic field.
