the molecules in the gas are mobile and they can move freely so can be compressed

Liquids and solids, like anything else, can be compressed. The change in volume even at huge pressure is very small, but the extent of compressibility is not an element of this question

In gases the particles are spaced far apart. This means that gases are able to be compressed by moving the particles closer together.

In solids, the particles are already very close together. They are close enough that you cannot force the particles any closer together, so they cannot be compressed.

Actually liquids and solids can be compressed its just that the effect is so small in comparison to that in gases that it is considered incompressible.

Now liquids and solids have an inter-atomic relationship that determines their structure. Gases do have something of this relationship (Van der Waals forces) but it is small and most often transitory. The structure of a gas is more determined by how often particles collide than what ever attractions they have between each other.

You can compress gas because the gas particles or molecules are apart from each other unlike the solid molecules which are tightly packed. For example of the gas molecules. They are like seats in your classroom which are arranged one seat apart. You can still compress them and there will be enough space. while in solid, its like the seats are arranged are tightly situated next to each other, that's why you cannot compress them anymore.

Solod cannot compresed easily because gas molecules are naturally more spaced in an environment we cant see the gas molecule but we can see the solid molecule thats why gas easily to compresed but solid cannot easily to compresd.

gas can be compressed because it has high inter-molecular gap and less inter-moleculer attraction compared to solids.

Because the molecules in liquids are denser than the molecules in gases.

What can you do to a gas but not to a solid or liquid?

compress it

Which is the hardest to compress?

(see question Which is harder to compress solid liquid or gas)

Can you compress a gas because its particles are close together?

No. You can compress a gas because the particles are NOT close together. If they are close together (as in a solid) it is extremely difficult to compress any further.

What is harder to compress gas liquid or solid?

The molecules of a solid are the most tightly packed than those of either gas or liquid making it the hardest of the three to compress. Gas has the most space between molecules and is therefore the easiest to compress.

How do you decide whether a sample of matter is a solid liquid or gas?

The differences between a solid, liquid and gas are simple! A solid is an object that has a set volume, and is hard to compress. A liquid will take the shape of its container, but is hard to compress. A gas will take the shape of its container, and is easy to compress.

What will happen if you apply pressure to a solid?

It will compress, but only very slightly as compared to a gas.

Why is a solid much more harder to compress than a gas?

The molecules in a solid are closely packed together in an orderly arrangement, leaving no spaces in between the molecules, therefore making compress difficult and almost impossible without use of machinery.

Is hydrogen compression possible?

We can compress the hydrogen because hydrogen gas is stored in the cylinders.

Why can you not compress a liquid?

The particles in a liquid are close together. In a solid the particles are tightly packed together so you cannot compress them at all. The particles in a gas are far apart, so when they are compressed the volume of the gas reduces. The bonds in a liquid are not as close as those in a solid but they are still too close for compression.

What happens when solid turns into gas?

The gas can't generally turn straight into a solid, it has to change into a liquid and then a solid. When a gas turns into a liquid, the particles go closer together into groups and condensate. When the liquid turns into a solid, the particles all compress into a small space thus making a solid object.-----------------------------------------------------------------------But the phenomenon of change from a gas to a solid is also very known and is called deposition.

Is it possible to make a gas into a solid?

yes

Is it possible for a solid to turn into a gas then into a liquid?

Yes
