Best Answer

A mixture refers to a sample which contains substances which are not chemically bonded/reacted together. Thus, the sample is impure.

Sugar refers to the whole group of crystalline carbohydrates, such as sucrose, glucose and fructose. Hence, you can say that sugar is a mixture because it refers to many different chemical compounds.

However, sugar that we see outside are usually not mixed together. They are usually sold in pure packages. The common sugar we see outside is usually sucrose.
