Will Sodium ever bond with Neon? Well no. That's not really possible knowing the fact that bonding is give or take or sharing of electrons to make the atom stable. Neon is situated in group 8 of the period table and is one of the noble gases. Nobles gases are those which have reached the atomic configuration of 2,8. And is a fact that the atom doesnot need to give or take electrons with having the outer shell full. 8 electrons in the shell of L is full or in other words the sub shells s and p in the second shell are complete therefore a bonding with such an atom is not possible. Therefore our everyday salts or chemicals never include noble gases.

Hope this has helped. Further questions may asked.
