I don't think the amount of reading would really change. It might go down because of cell phones and music but I think it will stay pretty constant, plus reading classic novels is still forced in schools, and minimum book requirements. Depending on how far in the future, you never know what new inventions may come. Maybe reading might not even be necessary!
More or less, yes.
It used to be that publishers considered children's books less worthy than adult books and offered the authors less money. This has changed with J.K. Rowlings and Suzanne Collins selling large numbers of books and demanding more royalties. The average author makes $68,000.
No, not really. Reading is designed to enable a child to learn more, not less.

AnswerIt means that writing children's literature is considered in literary circles to be valued but somehow less legitimate than other works of literature, probably because in a book for young children, you can write one sentence per page with a picture and have a book; and the writer of a children's book will be viewed to be somehow less of a writer than the writers of other types of books.I agree that would be what is meant by your quote. However, I personally believe that children's books provide a vital service. If they are not interesting or stimulating enough then many children will give up on reading for enjoyment and just think of all that they will miss out on.There are many brilliant children's books out there these days. Of course we know that the primer school books will have very few words in them but if they were too verbose in their writing the children would soon tire of reading as they are still at the beginning of their learning.
They will become obsolete with the uprise of solid state drives, which are faster and use less energy.

Out of what i think, yes. The older children will have lived longer and therefore have more money over the past years. Where as the younger children will have less.
It depends on what you think the company will do in the future.
Less production of books means that fewer books enter circulation and thus a slow growth of the total number of books. The less books there are, the less books you will be able to find in a library.

Books are not typically considered toys, as they are primarily used for educational or entertainment purposes through reading. Toys are objects designed for play and amusement, while books serve as a medium for storytelling, information, and knowledge acquisition. However, some interactive books or children's books with tactile elements may blur the line between books and toys for young children.
