The fox in "The Little Prince" wants to be tamed so that he can form a special bond with the little prince. Through being tamed, the fox believes he will feel loved and connected to someone, making his life more meaningful.
He wanted to be good...
The Little Prince tames the Fox.
The fox desires to be tamed by the little prince because it seeks a deeper connection and friendship, which requires vulnerability and trust. While the fox understands the concept of taming and has the ability to tame itself, it recognizes that true companionship involves mutual understanding and emotional bonds that can only be formed through interaction with another. Taming, in this context, signifies creating unique relationships that make one feel special and valued. Thus, the fox's eagerness stems from a longing for meaningful relationships beyond mere self-sufficiency.
The Fox, or le renard in the French version, is a new-found friend to the Prince. He learns a very important lesson from taming and befriending the fox: It is the time that we take to care for and understand those precious to us that MAKES them precious to us. For example, you may see a normal boy amongst hundred of others -- he is nothing special to you. However, if you take the time and responsibility of befriending said boy and learning to care for him, he cannot simply be replaced by another. The Fox teaches us the true value of people and things that we call our own.
As every tailed beast is they are emortal they can be tamed but they are unable to be destroyed

Yes. The Tame Silver Fox is a breed of fox that descended from red foxes bred to be tame during an experiment. A group of people (I cannot remember the exact details) took some red foxes and kept them on a farm type facility, to see if they could be domesticated. They divided them into two groups, one that would have as little contact with humans as possible whilst still being monitored (to keep them wild), and another group that would have as much contact with humans as possible. Not only did they find that they could be domesticated, but they found that along with domestication their coat colour, for some reason, changed. They became silver, and some even became white with silver patches. They can now be bred and owned as pets.
