St. Jude Thaddeus is a cousin of Jesus as well as an apostle; therefore, St. Jude is a male. Jude was the brother of James the Less. St. Jude was present at the Last Supper. In the Gospel According to St. John, Jude asked Jesus "Lord, how is it that you manifest yourself to us, but not to the world?" Jesus said, "If a man loves me, he keeps my words and my Father will love him and we will come to him, and make our home with him." Sacred tradition states that St. Jude was active preaching the Gospel was was martyred, clubbed to death, with Simon in Persia. In art he is depicted with a club. He is the patron saint of hopeless situations. His feast day is 28 October.
