yes it is sad
i can definitely say that where the red fern grows is a very sad book. The ending is where most of the sad things happen like in the last 2 or 3 chapters...hope that this helps (:
The mood of "Where the Red Fern Grows" is generally bittersweet, as it explores themes of love, loyalty, and loss. The story evokes feelings of nostalgia, innocence, and ultimately, acceptance of life's hardships.
The red fern ALWAYS grows theme. You may think there's no red fern around you right now, but if you look hard enough, it will appear, and grow forever. The longer you look for the red fern the faster it grows theme. I've done this before and it's quite reliable. Plus, the theme from the red fern is much higher quality than that of the blue fern.
it really depends on what kind of books you like. i personally thought it was amazing but the ending was phenomenal, where both dogs die, he buries them side by side on a hill, which conveniently, a red fern grows directly between them, just like the legend. i though it was so precious. which explains the title \where the red fern grows" it is pretty good, how hes trying to get money for the dogs, but later on it has some surprising events that take place, like the part when he is caught in the water and the dog saves him, i would recommend it if you like this kind of book, if it doesn't sound interesting, it probably isn't to you.
Well Where the Red Fern Grows is sad. I cried a little and I usually never cry! Also I have heard Old Yeller is sad, but I haven't personally read it. This books aren't about dogs, but War Horse and Private Peaceful made me cry! :,( Very sad, but a happy ending, I guess! Ha ha! Well there you go! Enjoy!
SAD! -begins to cry- my teacher made me read the stupid book and I'm only in 5th grade so after i finished it i just wanted 2 punch her -cries even more- i was like why would you make 5th graders read this depressing book?! -cries all over keyboard- >:(
Well basically a young boy that lives in the ozarks of Oklahoma wants a coon dog so through hard work he saved up enough money to buy two redbone coon hounds. Little anne and big dan. he then sets out hunting with them after training them to track scents. he develops a bond with his dogs and goes through pretty much everything imaginable throughout the book. The book is very sad at the end when big dan dies after a battle with a mountain lion. little ann dies shortly after from a broken heart. as the boy has to move he looks to the place where he buried the dogs. a red fern had grown up there. very sad story but one of the greatest of all times
The sad parts are when Billy is hunting in the championships and his grandfather badly sprains his foot. And after that it all goes down hill. Old Dan dies shortly after that from protecting Billy from a mountain lion. Little Ann then dies because she has no will to live anymore now that Old Dan is dead. She dies on Old Dan's grave in Billy's arms.
Here was no beauty contest for little Ann Billy didn't go down the slide at town It didn't start out as billy being old in the beginning Similar Grandpa did hurt his leg God did play a role in the movie Both dogs did die at the end - that was sad That all I can tell you thank you
I was very sad and surprised by the death of Johnny. He and Francie were so close and you know he really wanted to get better and be there for his wife and children.
Immediately after, he tries to save Dallas's life. When he grows up in the book, he writes books for a living.
The moral of the book is to keep your loved ones close to your heart. They will always be there when things go wrong like when Billy's hounds died and they will help motivate to accomplish your goals. Also Little Ann and Old Dan were very close to each other and they would not hunt without the other one so they were very close too.
