In Chapter 13 of "Mara, Daughter of the Nile," Mara witnesses the unfolding plot to infiltrate the palace. She sees Sheftu discussing his plans with the rebels, which forces Mara to make a difficult decision about where her loyalties truly lie as she navigates the dangerous political landscape.
Oh, dude, in Chapter 5 of "Mara, Daughter of the Nile," some stuff goes down. Like, Mara gets caught up in some shady business with a mysterious dude named Sheftu. There's betrayal, intrigue, and probably some drama. You'll have to read it yourself to get the full scoop, but trust me, it's a wild ride.
Mara Daughter of the Nile is about a young slave girl who is sold to a master who wants her to be a spy for the queen. However, on the ship to her destination, she meets another man who believes she has run away from her master. This strangers blackmails her into being a spy for him. In the end Mara must choose which side she is on a matter made more complicated because she falls in love with one of the men in her life.
After Thutmose wins the rebellion, Mara tells Sheftu to take Inanni back to her home in Canaan. It doesn't say exactly what happens to her, but she probably was sent back.
Mara learns that she likes cheese and remembers that when she was little she road a hippo to slave freedom. Unfortunatly, she is caught and she falls in love with Sheftu and realizeses that pigs do not eat donkeys.

When she's trying to decide which side she should take she notices she's falling for Sheftu. Sheftu is also at the moment falling in love with Mara. Eventually at the end of the book..... well you'll have to find that out for yourself, good reading! :)
