This Jaqueline Wilson book is about a girl who's Mum is going to have a baby with the little girl's stepfather but it all goes wrong. She is brought into hospital and goes into a coma for a long time. Hoping that she will wake up, the little girl and her stepfather go and see her nearly every day, playing music, talking to her and bringing in the new baby to see her. One of the things the little girl is interested in is whales. She finds out different facts about them and she plays whale songs in her mothers ear hoping that she'll hear her.
