Red Riding Hood is a Germanic fairy tale which takes place in the deep woods of the German/Austrian/Swiss Alps. This region is called the Black Forest, made famous by Hansel & Gretel. It has the high altitude Alps surrounding it on the West, South, and East, and consists of a deep, dark, thick coniferous forest on the slopes of the mountains, making it a very mystical area. The story was based off of the middle ages, the exact century i am not sure of. I have heard good cases made for both the 1600's and the late 1200's/early 1300's. The 1300's origin sounds more realistic to me. Hope this helps!

What does it mean in a dream that people are wolves in a dream?

The story is about a lovely sweet girl who is loved by one and all. Everyone calls the girl Little Red Riding Hood as she always wears a riding hood made of red velvet, which was gifted to her by her grandmother. One fine day, Little Red Riding Hood's mother packs a bottle of wine and a cake in a basket and asks her to take them to her sick grandmother. Before she leaves, her mother warns her not to talk to anyone on the way. Little Red Riding Hood promises her that she wouldn't and sets off to her grandmother's place, which was put up in the forest, half an hours walk from the village. When Little Red Riding Hood enters the forest, she comes across a wolf, who plans to eat her up. So when the wolf asks her where she is off to, she answers him that she is on her way to see her grandmother, without suspecting the wolf. When the wolf asks her where her grandmother lives, Little Red Riding Hood innocently answers that too.The wolf trots along with Little Red Riding Hood for sometime and tempts her to make a slow journey, asking her to enjoy the scenery. Little Red Riding Hood leaves the path and starts picking flowers and as she does so, she goes deeper and deeper into the forest. Meanwhile, the big bad wolf reaches grandmothers house and knocks the door. He enters the house and gobbles Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother. Then, he puts on the grandmothers clothes and night cap and lies down in her bed.Little Red Riding Hood soon realizes that she is late and hurries to her grandmother's house. She reaches the house and finds the front door wide open. She makes her way towards the bed, to see her grandmother looking very strange."Grandmother, what big ears you have!" she asks."All the better to hear you with," the wolf replies."Grandmother, what big eyes you have!" she asks."All the better to see you with," the wolf replies."Grandmother, what big hands you have!" she asks."All the better to hold you with," the wolf replies."But grandmother, what big teeth you have!" she asks."All the better to eat you with," the wolf replies, and leaps out of the bed and swallows Little Red Riding Hood. After that, the wolf gets back to the bed and starts sleeping. After a while, a passing huntsman hears the loud snores and goes inside the house, to find a wolf sleeping on the bed. He immediately cuts open the wolf's stomach with a pair of scissors. Little Red Riding Hood pops out of the wolf's stomach, followed by her grandmother. They then fill the wolf's stomach with stones and sew it. The wolf wakes up and tries to run, but falls down dead instead. The grandmother drinks the wine and eats the cake and feels much better and the story ends with Little Red Riding Hood promising her grandmother that she would never again leave the path when her mother has forbidden it.Read more: What_is_the_summary_of_the_story_of_Little_Red_Riding_Hood

Who is Little Red Ridding hood?

Little Red Riding hood is a girl from a fairy tail who is taking goodies to her grandmother, but a wolf keeps trying to take her goodies. When she gets to her grandmother's house, the wolf has eaten her grandmother, and is wearing her clothes and... I honestly don't remember what happens after that. And I must say I am thoroughly disturbed that you don't know who she is.

What or what was little red?

Little Red Riding Hood (also known as Little Red Cap or Red Riding Hood) is a little girl in one of the Grimm's brothers fairy tales. In short, Little Red Riding Hood is supposed to take some food to her grandmother by crossing the forest. Her mother told her to stay on the path and not to talk to anyone. On the way there she's followed by the Big Bad Wolf and she tells him where she's headed so the wolf tells her to pick some flowers for her grandmother; while she does, the Wolf goes to the grandmothers' house and eats her whole, then disguises himself as her and waits for the girl (in other versions he tells Little Red that he knows a shortcut, but it's actually the longer road that he tells the girl about so he has time to get to the house before her). Once Little Red gets to her grandmother's, the Wolf eats her whole as well. The girl and her grandmother are then saved by a hunter (in other versions, a lumberjack), who kills the Wolf and rescues them unharmed.

Is the Little Red Riding Hood an American story?

I am no English major, but I have never seen Little Red Riding Hood ever indicated as anything but a fairy tale. A fable is typically short and brief with a moral to the story about human nature. Thus, I would think Little Red Riding Hood is a fairly tale and not a fable.
