This conditioning was only for the gamma and lower (I believe). It was so they wouldn't waste any time appreciating nature and get back to their jobs.
In the book 'Brave New World' babies are conditioned to hate book so that the never read which then leads to them having a lack in intelligence. They are conditioned to hate flowers so that they live in the City and not the country. This is part one of a two step process, the second step is to play the words 'You want to become a factory worker' again and again during the babies sleep. In the book this is done so that these babies, which are all clones, grow up with a lack of intelligence, a hate for flowers and a dream to become a factory worker. So when a man comes up to one of these babies in twenty years and asks if they want to become a factory worker the will say yes, and be happy working. The way in which this works the conditioning works is that it creates a link in the baby's brain between a book and an electric shock. Because these babies are so young, eight months i believe, so when they see a book the will never like them because the brain likes books with pain. They will never remember why they don't like books
In Brave New World, people are conditioned by the little boxes that are placed under their pillows while they sleep. These boxes teach them that whatever class they are (Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, or Epsilon) they're glad their that class. They are also taught open sexuality and to want new things (Ending is better than mending) and to love flying. Also, they are conditioned for their environment on the conveyer belt. In the book, we see bottles be conditioned to hate the cold, which implants a need to seek out warmer weather. They also condition toddlers. We see them show toddlers flowers and colorful books, and when the babies get familiar and happy with these items, they shock them and blare loud noises.
Books and flowers were prohibited in the New World's society. It was strongly restricted from a lower caste of babies, because they were trained to be committed to their work. They cannot read books because literature lead to knowledge. That made society unstable. If they were classically conditioned to be afraid of flowers, they would stay away from nature and stay inside the city.
In Brave New World people are conditioned through hypnopaedia, or sleep teaching, where phrases such as "Just a gramme [of soma] and you won't give a ****" are repeated so they become ingrained in one's mind. Also, Neo-Pavlovian conditioning is used, which is basically classical conditioning developed by Ivan Pavlov. For example, infants are shown pictures of families and then given an electric shock, so eventually they associate families with pain and dislike them.
The poem is basically about a man wanting to accept death as it is. He watches the flowers accept death as nature. He then learns that the flowers are brave as they go back to the earth. He puts the flowers situation in his and which that they could teach him not to fear death and to be as brave when its time. :)

'Brave New World' is a dystopian science fiction novel written by Aldous Huxley. It explores themes of technology, society, and individuality in a futuristic world where human beings are genetically engineered and conditioned to fit a specific societal role.
One disadvantage of the society in "Brave New World" is the loss of individuality and free will, as citizens are conditioned to conform and suppress their emotions. On the other hand, one advantage is the stability and lack of conflict achieved through the suppression of undesirable traits and behaviors.
Brave New World is a book written by Aldous Huxley. The World State is run by 10 World Controllers that watch a segment of the world. Babies are born in hatcheries and are conditioned for the good of social stability. There is a caste system from Alpha being the highest to Beta then Gamma then Epsilon. They each wear a different color clothing and each play a different role in society. They are given Soma, a hallucinogen, and worship Ford. It is a very good book and i suggest you read it!
Babies are not born from a mother and father, but instead, in a large factory (hatchery). Basically, babies are grown in test tubes. The Alphas are treated with ideal embryonic conditions, while lesser castes are treated differently (ex. alcohol in the amniotic fluid of some) to control learning ability.
In Brave New World, conformity is enforced through technological control, conditioning, and social pressure. Citizens are conditioned from birth to embrace the values and norms of the World State, resulting in a society where individuality is suppressed in favor of stability and uniformity. Those who deviate from the norm are seen as outcasts.
"Brave New World" presents a dystopian society where human beings are artificially created and conditioned with predetermined roles and behaviors. The story follows the protagonist, Bernard Marx, as he grapples with the conformity and lack of individuality in this society, ultimately questioning the cost of sacrificing freedom for stability.
