CTD rods are called as Cold Twisted Deformed. The method of twisting the rods generaly increases the tensile strength of rods. Here twisting of steel rods is done after it gets cooled. Here atn this time the topmost and near topmost fibres are getting ruptured while it is twisted, which ends in the formation of micro cracks over the surface of the finished steel rods. If these cracks are carefully seen in microscope the width of cracks is more at the topmost fibre and gradually reduces when it goes deeper into the section. These cracks acquires water or water molecules which are harmful to steel or it may be the major cause for RUST. Hence the use of CTD rods are not advisable.

Having various advantages,Having various advantages, CTD Bars differ from the TMT Bars in: DuctilityCTD Bars derive their strength from hardening where strength gain results in decrease of ductility. Decreased ductility has an adverse effect on the ease of fabrication, earthquake resistance etc. Resistance from Rust, Corrosion and FireSince CTD Bars are made after hot rolling, they have less resistance from rust as well as fire. Can you pour concrete to steel bars painted with red oxide primer?

yes we can pour concrete to steel bars painted with red oxide. this will help steel bars from getting corroded.

What is the hysd steel bars?

High yeild strength deformed bars. The characteristic strength of these bars are higher than mild steel.

What does deformed steel bar mean?

Deformed steel bar is more commonly known as reinforcing bar, or rebar. These steel bars are imbedded in concrete to provide tensile strength. Smooth bars are run through rollers which "deform" the bar thereby adding ribs. The ribs provide a mechanical bond between the steel bars and the surrounding concrete.

Why staggered lap is necessary in steel bars?

we need the same steel area for the structure

What is the standard length of steel rods?

TOR is a manufacturer's name for CTD (Cold Twisted Deformed) steel bars, also known as "rebar" and used as reinforcement in concrete. While it certainly can be ordered from the manufacturer in any lengths, most hardware suppliers carry a standard 20' length.

How many types of steel bars?

There are primarily three types of steel bars: mild steel bars, deformed steel bars, and high strength deformed bars. Each type serves specific purposes in construction, offering varying degrees of strength and flexibility. Kalinga TMT, renowned in the steel industry, provides top-quality TMT bars, ensuring durability and structural integrity in buildings. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, Kalinga TMT stands as a trusted supplier, contributing to the robustness and safety of construction projects nationwide.

What is TMX steel bars?

TMX steel is a high quality QST bar. Thermex technology is used for this. Thermex bars, unlike CTD bars, have a proven record resisting loss of strength at high temperatures as experienced during fires. Quenched & Self Tempered (QST) steel, can be described as a new-generation-high-strength steel having superior properties such as weldability, strength, ductility and tensile strength, which meets the highest international quality standards. Both Thermex and TMX are trademarks owned by H&K Rolling Mill Engineers Pvt. Ltd. in India.

How many 12mm steel bars in one ton?

It depends on the average mass of the steel bars, which will depend on their length and the density of the steel.
