Slump test is the most commonly used method of measuring workability of concrete
which can be employed either in laboratory or at site of work.
Procedure
The mould is placed on a smooth, horizontal, rigid and non-absorbant surface The mould is then filled in four layers, each approximately 1/ 4 of the height of the mould. Each layer is
tamped 25 times by the tamping rod taking Slump Test Apparatus care to distribute the strokes evenly over the cross section. After the top layer has been rodded, the concrete is struck off level with a trowel and tamping rod. The mould is removed from the concrete immediately by raising it slowly and carefully in a vertical direction. This allows theconcrete to subside. This subsidence is referred as SLUMP of concrete. The difference in level
between the height of the mould and that of the highest point of the subsided concrete ismeasured. This difference in height in mm is taken as Slump of Concrete.

To check the consistency of the concrete; to determine if the concrete flow smoothly into the shape of the formwork. It is a quick check to see if the concrete is suitable for use.
The slump test is the most widely used device worldwide. In fact, the test is so well known that often the terms workability and slump are used interchangeably, even though they have different meanings. • Specifications are typically written in terms of slump. • The slump test is simple, rugged, and inexpensive to perform. Results are obtained immediately. • The results of the slump test can be converted to yield stress in fundamental units based on various analytical treatments and experimental studies of the slump test. • Compared to other commonly used concrete tests, such as for air content and compressive strength, the slump test provides acceptable precision.
Required slump height of M20 for different concrete structures, are normally calculated by the required slump value, which would come out to be 100 lits.

a slump occurs when it wants to:) lol its for real!!
The duration of Dr. Slump is 300.0 seconds.
Im guessing that you mean field test of concrete and not cement. Typically testing for air content, slump, and temperature are performated as outlined by ACI.
When dealing with conrete the "slump" refers to how much will a sample sag, reduce in height in a given time frame. re: a 5" slump means that after removing the CYLINDER the concrete will lose 5 inches of elevation. The slump cylinder is the tool used to determine the slump of concrete.
You can get out of a baseball fielding slump by being calm and relaxed

The opposite of a "slump" (decrease in output or success) could be either a rise or an increase. Following a slump can be a rebound or resurgence. Slang terms for the opposite of being in a slump include being on "a streak", "a run" or "a roll."
