You cant. Its illegal to have one in California
Gun shop, gun show, antique gun forum, or possibly Flayderman's Guide to Antique Firearms.
I paid ~$250 for mine (fully functional) at a southern California gun show in 2000
No
Yes- HOWEVER- be sure that the rifle is an ANTIQUE. Both California and Federal law have a specific definition of what makes a firearm an ANTIQUE. The particular gun must have been made prior to 1899, or it is a muzzle loading type firearm that uses loose ball and powder, without regard to when it was made. If it is NOT an antique, and ownership is being transferred across a state line, then the rifle must be shipped TO a Federal Firearms License holder, such as a dealer, in the State of California.
Knife shows are most of the time being shown with most Gun shows. One can find some information about knife shows online at Gun Show, Great Southern Gun Show, Blade Show, Mi Gun Shows, Gibraltar Trade and Gun Show Trader.
the people who evaluate antique guns have a refence guide/book they use. they also need the gun 'in hand' to note the condition for themselves. based on their findings, they can attach a value to an antique piece..........in a lesser way, you, too, can evalute an antique pistol by securing an antique gun book and compare your pistol to the condition they list. buy a copy of "bluebook of gun values" thru Yahoo or your book store.
Old or antique depending on the age.
It would be best to take it to a gun shop to have it Identified.
Perhaps a good place to start would be to find a copy of Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms- you may be able to request a copy through your local library. This is a fairly comprehensive book with good descriptions and illustrations of thousands of antique firearms. You might also check for gun dealers in your area that know antique firearms, or check out a local gun show, where dealers in antique firearms have been neatly gathered in one spot for your convenience.
OKAY, What is your question?
Try the yellow pages and look for auction houses, antique stores, gun stores.
