Victory stamps were another effort to raise money for the war effort. They were popular with people who could not afford to buy a war bond all at once.
As a civilian, you received a book of ration STAMPS from the War Rationing Board. When you purchased an item from a merchant that was rationed, you need money AND ration stamps for that item. This included food- which you bought from the grocer or butcher.
If they are Government issued Bonds, check with your local bank.

War Bonds were special means/tactics used to pay the respective war debts of countries. For example, during the WWII, the U.S. Government sold war bonds (kind of postcards or stamps) to many Americans with the purpose of paying the war expenses.

The letters on World War II ration stamps indicated the type of food or item that could be purchased and helped regulate the distribution of scarce resources. Each letter corresponded to specific products, such as "A" for meats, "B" for processed foods, and so forth. The stamps were used to control consumption and ensure fair distribution among the population during wartime shortages. This system helped manage limited supplies and minimize hoarding.

The 1942 "Win the war" stamp was one of only two stamps issued that year. It is valued at 20 cents in mint condition. A used example is also valued in the catalog at 20 cents, but is very common and really worth about one cent.
