I do not believe the electroplate will fade 'per se', but it will wear off.

If it is on jewellry, it will wear off a lot more quickly than say a vase or a tray.

I think the oils/acids on your skid accelerate the wear on jewellry.

Meaning of EP in 24Kt EP?

Electroplated. What it means is that the item is very, very thinly coated with a fine gold. The gold is not worth much. It means that if you are alergic to the base metal, you won't break out because the gold coats it.

The difference between 24KT gold and 24KGP gold plated jewelry?

Yes, 24KGP (24kt Gold-Plated) Jewelry is almost always plated on a base metal and is very shiny orange-ish color and relatively light in weight. 24KT ( Pure Gold ) Jewelry is "always" very very heavy in weight( in you hand ) and very bendable if not to thick. If this question was asked because you are considering purchasing 24 kt Pure Gold. You get what you pay for! If anybody is offering you Pure Gold 24kt Jewelry for a cheap price....you can bet your life.....it's not Pure Gold...... Buy from somone or somebody you trust !!!! People can't rip you off....UNLESS...you let them !!!! Be Careful ! Richard

How many carrots are in an ounce of gold?

Karat is not the weight of gold but the purity...24kt is pure gold.

How much is 24 karat gold that electroplated?

Yes, of course! Gold electroplating is depositing a thin layer of gold on a surface. If you mean monetary value, then it has value but very low compared to what value it would have had had the entire cross -section been of gold, instead of only a thin layer. Gold plated jewellery for women no doubt has the same value as real gold jewellery

What is a 24 karat gold gold electroplate?

24kt. gold is electroplated on to another metal with "I believe" a solution of salt, water & vinegar when you electroplate you are actually sending molecules from a source of gold through this solution and then they stick or are electroplated onto another conductive metal.Just get a 12 volt car battery and connect the pos. to your gold and the neg. to the piece you want to plate take bothe ends pos and neg and dip them into the solution and it will start to bubble. wipe away the outer layer of your neg piece every few min and after a few dips you will have just electroplated your first metal. Also 24 kt. gold electroplate can be used to describe jewelry that has gone through the same or similar process the source, (POS). is 24 Kt. Gold.
