How big is the biggest pistol in the world?

Two possible candidates for largest/most powerful handgun-

First, the Pfeifer-Zeliska .600 Nitro Express Magnum. This fires a cartridge suited for elephants. Second, the Maadi Griffin, a bolt action pistol chambered for the .50 Browning Machine Gun cartridge. There is disagreement on whether the Maadi was actually produced, or if only an experimental model was made. WHY either one would have been made is beyond me.
