It depends on what the coin is made of. If it's made of the same cupronickel clad metal that dimes are struck on, you have an off-metal strike that could be worth a moderate amount of money. If it's copper-colored like an ordinary cent, someone has been playing around with a normal cent and it's just a damaged coin.

FWIW, the "bumps" on the edge of a coin are called reeding. "Riveting" (note the spelling) involves joining two pieces of metal together with hammered metal connectors.
