It's not that simple. You need to organize the coins by date and denomination; for coins after the 1830s you also need to know if they have mint marks. You also need to have an idea of how worn they are.

Two things NOT to do: (1) Don't take the first offer. Get a couple of competing appraisals, especially on expensive coins. (2) ABSOLUTELY DON'T TRY TO CLEAN YOUR COINS. Any home cleaning agents, lemon juice, etc., will do more harm than good and will reduce or destroy the coins' numismatic values.
