50-600 or so
The value of a Smith-Corona Zephyr 1938 typewriter depends on its condition. This model in excellent condition is valued between 350.00 and 425.00 as of 2014.
The only company on the Internet that has every Smith Corona model Manual or User's Guide is Will Repair Service. Their Website is; www.willrepairservice.com. Just log-on and request the manual you need. The "official" printed manual for the Smith Corona SL600 from Will Repair Service is presently quoted at $22.00 plus $8.00 shipping. A downloadable manual for the Spellmate model is available from the Smith Corona web site, at http://www.smithcorona.com/pdf/Spellmate.pdf. It's free, and the functions of this model appear to be similar to the SL600.
Price varies on condition and rarity but most black models can be bought for $50 or less. Expect to pay more for the special color models such as green, blue or maroon.
I bought one new in 1965. It's current value is best determined by what the buying price is on this model on eBay.
I believe you are taking about the typewriter? if you those are the latter models as Smith and Corona where separate companies until they merged. to buy one, or you me worth, difficult to say without the model kind and serial #. this site, http://site.xavier.edu/POLT/TYPEWRITERS/index.html, is a great resource to help you. has great pics too.
